Origins and evolution (1999-2020)
The Mas el Garet project began in 1999, when Lluís Mauri started with 100 goats at the family farm in Tona. With the opening of the cheesery in 2007, the brand became established in Catalonia. In 2012, the organic certification reinforced their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. In 2020, modernization with an automated plant increased production while preserving the artisanal essence.
Philosophy: land, farm, and cheesery
At Mas el Garet, production starts on the land, cultivating forage, cereals, and legumes to feed the Murciano-Granadina goats. This closed cycle ensures high-quality milk. In the cheesery, organic cheeses and dairy products are carefully produced and aged to perfection. The final step is packaging, maintaining craftsmanship as a mark of excellence.
Products and awards
Their range includes organic goat and cow cheeses, conventional collaboration cheeses, mató, brossat, goat yogurt, and kefir. Mas el Garet has been recognized at the World Cheese Awards (2021-2023), winning medals for cheeses such as Garrotxa, Garet Gran, and El Torrat.
